Bit of tutoring action

Yesterday my little sister Olivia came in after a bit of jewellery making knowledge, as she needed to make a birthday present - so I got my tutor on! I think she did pretty well.

More stems...

Thought I'd try a new design out in the studio today. The bottom image is of the bangle before it has been oxidised, the others after. Definitely think it looks better with the black contrast. Thoughts?

The preview event will feature a selection of work from all 8, after which the artists will exhibit their work in pairs.

Here are the specific details...

8 Tales Of Textiles
Preview event -  7-9pm, 1st July
Exhibition runs - 2-24th July. Open weekends 10am-6pm (please check suchandsuchstudio.co.uk for weekday opening days/times)

Biscuits

After already impressing us at Such and Such with their debut show in January, Clusterbomb ( Alex Gibbs, Bobby Nixon, Jamie Kinroy, John Brown and Matt Swan) presented Biscuits; an exhibition of stuff about biscuits. Oh yes!

Leith Late

Such and Such was part of Leith Late, which took place on the 16th of June, where over 10 galleries, shops, bars etc were open showing off a variety of exhibitions and performances. There were 100's of new faces about it Leith and in Such and Such. I was delighted that we were part of it.

Anomal

At Such and Such we were lucky to showcase the work of recent Duncan of Jordanstone illustration graduates Jamie Johnson ( www.jamie-johnson.blogspot.com ) and Al White (http://alwhite.tumblr.com). Their exhibition Anomal which explored hypnagogic autonomous landscapes through both individual and collective works was absolutely beautiful.

The month of November saw our studio (such and such) being transformed every weekend by various designers/creative collectives into their own pop-up shop! It was hard work but fantastic fun, thanks so much to all those who were involved.
